Gulf Breeze, FL Fire Damage Cleanup and Restoration

WILDFIRES

The threat of wildland fires for people living near wildland areas or using recreational facilities in wilderness areas is real. Dry conditions at various times of the year greatly increase the potential for wildland fires. Advance planning and knowing how to protect buildings in these areas can lessen the devastation of a wildland fire.

What to Do Before a Wildfire

  • Make plans to care for your pets in case you must evacuate.
  • Shut off gas, pilot lights and propane tanks. Open fireplace damper. Close fireplace screens. Move flammable furniture away from windows and sliding-glass doors. Place combustible patio furniture inside.
  • Turn on lights to increase visibility of your home in heavy smoke.
  • Seal attic and ground vents with plywood or commercial seals.
  • Connect the garden hose to outside taps.
  • Place lawn sprinklers on the roof and near above-ground fuel tanks. Wet the roof. Wet or remove shrubs near the home.
  • Leave doors and windows closed but unlocked. It may be necessary for firefighters to gain quick entry into your home.

What to Do During a Wildfire

  • Wear protective clothing, sturdy shoes, cotton or woolen clothing, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, gloves and handkerchief to protect your face.
  • The water you put into your pool or hot tub and other containers will come in handy now.
  • Evacuate when instructed and bring your disaster supply kit.
  • Tell someone when you leave and where you are going.
  • Choose a route away from fire hazards.

Our Fire Restoration Process

Every fire damage event is a little different and requires a unique solution, but the general process stays the same. The steps listed below illustrate our process for the “typical” fire damage emergency.

Step 1: Emergency Contact

We are available 24 hours, 7 days a week. When you call, one of our representatives will ask a series of questions about the fire damage to your home or business. This information helps us respond immediately with all the needed equipment and resources.

Step 2: Inspection and Fire Damage Assessment

We carefully inspect and test adjoining rooms of your property to determine the extent of the fire, smoke, and soot damage. This step is crucial to developing a plan of action.

Step 3: Immediate Board-Up and Roof-Tarp Service (if needed)

Fire damage can often compromise windows, walls, and roofs. To maintain security and to protect against further damage, we can board up missing windows and walls and place tarps on damaged roofs.

Step 4: Water Removal and Drying (if water damage is present)

The water removal process begins almost immediately and removes the majority of the water. We then use dehumidifiers and air movers to remove the remaining water and complete the drying process.

Step 5: Removal of Smoke and Soot from All Surfaces

Your property’s ceiling, walls, floors, and other surfaces will likely have smoke and soot residue. We’ll use specialized cleaning products, equipment, and techniques to properly clean your home or business.

Step 6: Cleaning and Sanitizing

We clean and sanitize the restorable items and structures damaged by the fire. Our professionals use a variety of cleaning techniques to restore your belongings to pre-fire condition. We’re also trained to remove odors using industrial air scrubbers and fogging equipment.

Step 7: Restoration

Restoration is the final step—getting your home or business to its pre-fire condition. Restoration may involve minor repairs, such as replacing drywall, painting, and installing new carpet; or it may entail major repairs such as the reconstruction of various areas or rooms in a home or business.
